Dear brothers and sisters in Christ —
Joy of the coming Feast!
Included in the notes posted for the Nativity of our Lord God and Saviour was the “Zadostoinyk”. This should also be sung at the Divine Liturgy on Sunday January 8th, a rubric missing in the original .pdf file of the calendar.
At the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, January 8th, in place of the “It is truly worthy”, we sing the Magnification:
Magnify, O my soul, the most pure Virgin Theotokos, who is greater in honour and more glorious than the Hosts on high.
…and the beautiful Irmos of the Ninth Ode of the Canon sung at the Vigil, in Tone 1:
A strange and most glorious mystery do I see: the cave is heaven, the Virgin, the throne of the Cherubim, and the manger, a room in which Christ God, whom nothing can contain, is laid. Him we do praise and magnify.
The complete files have been adjusted to reflect this, but here are insert pages with the lacuna marked.
Pray for us!
